"Kind Hearts. Fierce Minds. Strong Spirits."
Queen Anne’s is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11–18, set within 35 acres in Caversham, Berkshire.
We believe girls thrive when their education is designed around them. In a girls-only environment, students are encouraged to speak up, take intellectual risks, lead with confidence and pursue their interests without limiting stereotypes. Every subject, opportunity and leadership role is open to girls—and every achievement belongs to them.
Where she starts is only the beginning
Queen Anne’s combines ambitious teaching with exceptional pastoral care, helping each girl make progress from her individual starting point.
Our results demonstrate the power of this approach. Queen Anne’s is ranked the fifth best independent school for GCSE pupil progress, with girls consistently achieving beyond expectations. In 2026, 29% of GCSE grades were Grade 9, while 48% of A-level grades were A–A*.
Success at Queen Anne’s is about more than examination results. Girls are encouraged to discover their strengths across academics, sport, music, drama, art and an extensive co-curricular programme—developing the confidence, resilience and independence to thrive at school and beyond.
Supporting the move to secondary school
We understand that starting secondary school is a significant step for every girl and her family.
Our carefully planned transition programme helps new students become familiar with the school, build friendships and feel part of the Queen Anne’s community before their first term begins. Families can get to know us through open mornings, personal tours, taster experiences and induction days.
A school day designed for modern family life
On three days each week, the school day can continue until 6.15pm. This gives girls time to participate in clubs, activities and supervised study after lessons, while protecting valuable family time at home.
Our transport service operates around the extended school day, and flexi-boarding offers additional convenience when family schedules require it.
Safe and convenient transport
Located in Caversham, close to Reading and with excellent connections across Berkshire and Oxfordshire, Queen Anne’s provides an extensive and reliable transport network to support safe and straightforward travel to school.
