ABOUT THE HEADMASTER
Mr Jesse Elzinga has been Headmaster of Sevenoaks School since September 2020. Since then, he has managed the school through the pandemic, overseen our successful exam results and supported the wellbeing of the school community, including as part of Harvard University’s groundbreaking Human Flourishing Program. His aims for the school’s future include widening access to a Sevenoaks School education through more financially assisted places. As a recipient of bursary support himself he knows that access to exceptional education can transform life opportunities. He is also working towards the school becoming carbon neutral, developing partnerships with other leading IB schools and furthering Sevenoaks School’s global outlook. He is committed to the school’s award-winning ethos of service and partnerships which connects us to our local community and supports communities around the world.Visit us
There are lots of ways to visit the school. We hold one large Open Morning a year in mid-June and weekly group visits during term-time. You can also meet us during our international trips, at school fairs and at the Independent Schools Show. If you have already attended one of our events and wish to discuss an application to the school, we would be happy to arrange an individual meeting with Admissions. Please contact the Registrar for 11+ and 13+ entry, or the Sixth Form Registrar to make an appointment. Alternatively if you are unable to visit the school in person, we hope you will able join us at one of our virtual events found here.Open Morning
We hold one large annual open morning at Sevenoaks in June. The programme is similar to a group visit, with the addition of a presentation by current pupils, the opportunity to talk with academic and senior staff through open classrooms that include displays of work, taster activities and students on hand to answer your questions. Visitors will hear talks from the Headmaster and the Director of Admissions, as well as a presentation from current pupils. Student-led tours of the campus will include the opportunity to talk to senior members of staff. Classrooms will be open with displays, taster activities to enjoy, and subject teachers and students on hand to answer your questions. You will also be able to visit a boarding house, if relevant.
