Founded in 1884, Ellesmere is a co-educational boarding and day school which offers students from Yrs 3-13 a platform for academic success and personal development. A wide-ranging curriculum and activities programme allows each student the opportunity to excel in a range of disciplines - whether the Arts, Music, Drama, Sport or to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Ellesmere is one of only 39 schools in the worlds to be recognised as a High Performance Learning School.

The Lower School (Yrs. 3-8) provides a happy, secure environment which focuses on individual needs, and helps children grow into confident young people. Middle School students (Yrs. 9-11) enjoy a stimulating environment with an extensive academic programme and an even wider range of co-curricular opportunities. In Sixth Form – Yrs. 12-13 - students have a choice of A levels, BTEC or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

Ellesmere College is the only UK independent school to hold the Arts Mark Platinum Award, and for athletes at all levels, Ellesmere is one of only nine schools in the world to be an accredited Athlete Friendly Education Centre (AFEC) by the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) and athletes can train at every Olympic discipline. At Ellesmere we believe that developing the individual is more than just passing examinations; a philosophy which is paramount to the continued success of nurturing our students to be truly ‘Life Ready’.
